Avant-Garde Typeface Historical and Visual Research Design Project

ACCD| Advisor: Chesley Nassaney | Pasadena, CA
Fall2024

Centered on the Avant-Garde typeface, this project conducted a comprehensive study on its visual characteristics, historical context, and cultural symbolism, focusing on its origins and aesthetic logic during the 20th-century radical graphic design movement. Deliverables included a professionally bound booklet that systematically analyzed the development and evolution of the typeface, as well as two themed posters that utilized composition, layout, and negative space to convey the spirit and concept of the font. The work was selected for an internal exhibition at the college.
